On December 3rd, 2022, a group of four talented sophomore students from SMU made a strong impression at the University of Houston stock pitch competition. The students, who are part of the school's Spindletop Energy Investment Fund, earned second place and a check for $1,000 with their well-researched and knowledgeable stock pitch for Plains All American Pipeline (NASDAQ: PAA).

The competition brought together top students from schools across the region, offering them the opportunity to showcase their investment skills and knowledge of the financial markets. The young team of sophomores were selected to participate based on their impressive track record and experience as part of the Spindletop Energy Investment Fund.

"We are extremely proud of our students and their success at the University of Houston Stock Pitch Competition," said Matthew Stolper, President of Spindletop. "The Spindletop Investment Fund provides valuable hands-on experience for our students, and this competition is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the field of finance."
